Latin American Leadership Academy

Ana Lídia Santana Schroeder is a Brazilian public policy expert, social impact leader, and educator who has spent over a decade working across the public, private, and non-profit sectors to strengthen social rights and institutions. She currently serves as the Director of Leadership Programs at the Latin American Leadership Academy (LALA). Schroeder holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and a Master’s degree in Law and Development from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) in São Paulo, where her research focused on state capacities and public administration.

In the public sector, she built an extensive track record within the municipal and state governments of São Paulo. She served as a Special Technical Advisor and later as the Deputy Secretary of Sports and Leisure for the Municipality of São Paulo, making her the youngest woman to hold that executive position in the city’s history. She also directed the Brazilian Center for Latin American Studies under the São Paulo State Government.

Transitioning to the social impact sector, Schroeder managed critical education and public school connectivity portfolios at the Lemann Foundation. Driven by a commitment to educational equity, she co-founded MegaEdu, a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to expanding high-speed internet connectivity and digital infrastructure in Brazilian public schools. At LALA, she leverages her administrative and educational expertise to design and scale leadership ecosystems for young changemakers across Latin America.
